Dear Mr. Colverson,

Thank you for your letter of the 21st.  I am, of course, very pleased to hear that you will need more copies of The Death of the Moth, and note that the order has been increased to 6,000 in all.

I am glad you have been able to settle the various difficulties about prelims and chapter headings with The Garden City Press direct.  Incidentally I have just heard that in going through the markings made by you in the text they have found one or two word alterations.  I am puzzled to know by what authority or with what intention these were made.  We cannot allow them to stand, unless they were actual misprints.

Yours sincerely,

John Lehmann expresses gratitude for 1000 more copies of Virginia Woolf's The Death of the Moth being needed and also concern as to why Mr. Colverson has made one or two word alterations in the text without consent.
