Woolf writes that he didn't discuss the advance amount with Golding. In turn, he writes that Hogarth has retained American rights to the letter (given the difficulty of publishing pamphlets with American firms) and will receive 75% of the sale on receipt. He says further that Golding is free to retain American rights.
