Dear Mr. Postgate,
SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE GREYHOUND.
I return the draft agreement. I think it is all right except for the words "and Canada". We have an agent in Canada and we do not therefore give the Canadian rights with the American. In fact in this case advance copies have already gone to our agent. I am not sure that the clause with regard to the option would not perhaps be better worded somewhat as follows:-
"and an option upon the work entitled O PROVIDENCE provided that the proprietor exercises his option upon the said work; if the proprietor.does [sic] not exercise such an option, he shall immediately advise the publisher".
