Ahmed Ali, Esq.,
56, Eardley Crescent, S.W.5.

22nd July, 1940.

Dear Mr. Ali,

Twilight in Delhi

Thank you for your letter of July 17th. I added the dedication to your corrected galley proofs. The printer promises page proofs for next Thursday, the 25th. I am hoping to let you have four copies, as you requested, thoughtit [sic] is rather difficult to get extra proofs at the present time owing to the shortage of paper. I only had time to run quickly through the galley proofs but I noticed that the printers had queried several words, etc. which you had not corrected, so it will be necessary for you to examine the page proofs very carefully.

Yours sincerely, | THE HOGARTH PRESS, | Manager.*1
