Robert de Graaf of Pocket Books Inc writes to enclose a copy of a letter from Joseph Lesser (of Alfred A Knopf Inc) as explanation as to how they secured the American rights. Lesser states they acquired the exclusive rights from Bunin and do not need to render any accounts to an English publisher, they do not have a contract with The Hogarth Press except the one to publish The Well of Days. Robert de Graaf asks again about British rights and asks what terms of payment they would like.

Typescript letter signed by de Graaf and a copy of a letter from Joseph C Lesser [copy states that it was signed by Joseph C Lesser but no signature is present in the copy]
