Koteliansky states that neither Budberg nor Penguin asked for permission to reprint his translations of Tchekhov, but that he will ask for payment in advance of publication therefrom at the rate that Hogarth has proposed (viz., 15 guineas). Handwritten note states "No trace of payment."
