Dear Miss Haslett,

I hope you may remember me.  I certainly remember you and your kindness to me about a year ago when you introduced me to Mr. Stack of the Launderers' Association. Since the beginning of May, I have been Manager of the Hogarth Press, and of course I am delighted to be back in the publishing world.

I believe some few weeks ago that the Editor of your magazine asked for a review copy of Three Guineas. At the time of this request, our review list was definitely closed, but it seems to me that being such a prominent women's organization, we certainly ought to stretch a point and let you have a copy of the book. I am therefore sending one.

In this connection, I am wondering whether you would be willing to co-operate with me in getting the enclosed card distributed to your members. I expect you have already read Three Guineas. and will agree with me that any woman interested in present alarming current affairs, and in general the status of women, should have this book by her. I am wondering, therefore, whether you could possibly arrange to have a number of these cards sent out to your members, perhaps with some material of your own, or if you prefer to give us a list we should be delighted to send them out ourselves. The book has received an extremely interesting press. The Times Literary Supplement described Mrs. Woolf ^*1 as “the most brilliant pamphleteer in England,” and went on to say that “this brilliant and searching pamphlet might mark an epoch in the world's history.” I hope, therefore, you will be willing to help.
