Night & Day, by Virginia Woolf.
Dear Sir,
Mrs Woolf has asked us to reply to your letter to her dated March 24th regarding a stage adaptation of her book, Night and Day. We have to make a practice of never giving rights of translation or dramatisation to individuals, but only to publishers or producers. If you are willing to take the risk of making a stage adaptation of the book, Mrs Woolf will be glad to read the MS when it is complete. Then if she approves of it and you can find a producer who will sign a contract with us, we shall be pleased to consider any offer he has to make. I am sure you will understand that we cannot in any way bind ourselves with regard to an option at this juncture.
Yours faithfully, | THE HOGARTH PRESS | Manager
