W.C.1.

Dear Tom,

Is it possible to communicate with Hope Mirrlees and, if so, do you know how? An American publisher wants to publish ‘<Avvakum>’ and to make alterations in it and I can't give or refuse permission without Hope’s permission. But I cannot get any answer to my letters, which have been sent to Shamley Wood, Shamley Green, Guildford and to Longdown Hollow, Hindhead.

Yours

Dictated but not signed by Mr. Woolf
