Leonard writes to let Clara Walker know that he has returned the signed agreement to Seltzer, as requested, also apologising for the confusion over the handling of American rights to Pharos and Pharillon, explaining that Knopf was in London and saw Forster and asked to see the book. Leonard sent a copy to his hotel and sorted out the agreement over the telephone. He encloses a cheque of £5 to cover the scouting work Clara Walker has done for them and assures her he will let her know if they receive more money from Seltzer for their edition of Tolstoi's Love Letters.
