Dear Mr. Woolf:

You wrote to me in May that you had prepared a new volume of Mrs. Woolf’s essays which you hoped to publish on your side this autumn and that you would have proofs sent when they were available. I realize that production is slow these days, but I had thought the proofs [* * *] might be arriving by this time, and I am writing to remind you that we are looking forward to seeing them. We have been assuming that this new book could be published here early in the New Year.

With kind regards, | Yours sincerely, | Donald Brace [signature] | DCE:CMc

[* *MR. Evans tells me early September is the best date he has at the moment. AB*1*].
