Ransom's only book of poems published by the Press includes an introduction by Robert Graves about American regional poetry. Graves expresses a desire for a whole account of the country in poetry detailing all of its regions. Graves puts the reason for Ransom's failure as a writer in America down to his title 'Poems about God,' which seems inappropriately pious for the age.
