This biography of Charlotte Stuart, Duchess of Albany, is based on newly discovered letters that were housed in the Bodleian Library. The biographer claims that the letters "show Charlotte Stuart's contempt for the beauties and antiquities of Rome, and may interest students of character, as well as lovers of odd and unexpected aspects of life in the eighteenth century." There is a portrait of Charlotte on the cover by Vanessa Bell.
