Dear Leonard [Woolf] -
We send by registered book post (1) the corrected typoscript from which the printer must work. (2) the manuscript of Prince Mirsky's preface. As regards the typescript it has more corrections than we had hoped but that is indirectly owing to the fact that we have only just been able to get into our own hands the text of the original version. Prince Mirsky's preface is also longer than we thought but - I know when you have read it you will agree with us that it is a most valuable contribution, it makes the whole thing intelligble - in fact I think it is just what you wanted.
In about ten days or a fortnight - he will send you direct a sketch map of the wanderings of Avvakum - that of course will need not be printed in the text so need not cause delay. Will you please send proof direct to him as well as to us. His address is

We go back to Paris on the 29th. As regards money we want the profits (if there are any!) to be equally divided so - will you send Prince Mirsky a separate cheque Love to the <both> of you from both of us.| H.M. *1 - [signature]
