Dear Maynard,

The enclosed from Ogden & Spencer may interest you.  I have put in here[?] the margin our actual scheme of advertizing.  I think we got more value for our money than they would have.

The sales up to Saturday were 3035 and the on sale account 3631.  750 of the 3035 are Smith's repeat orders and are really on sale.  Slaughter thinks that from the way they are now taking one may assume that the returns will not exceed 20%  If that estimate is correct, the actual sales would now be 2500 copi  5,500 copies.

Will you be motoring us to Charleston tomorrow and, if so, when do you propose to go and return.  I suppose there wouldnt [sic] be room for Nellie and a child by the driver?
