Miss Hope Mirrlees,
Shamley Wood,
Shamley Green,
Guildford.

Dear Miss Mirrlees,

In reply to your letter of April 19th, addressed to Mr. Lehmann, we regret to say that owing to the state of our papers which were left behind in London, we are finding it extremely difficult to trace the early correspondence and Agreement in connection with The Life of the Archpriest Avvakum, and we wonder if you would be satisfied with a 50 - 50 sharing of profits?

Yours very truly,
