Dear Sirs,
In reply to your letter of August 18th reference FRS/NW, we note that you received back in the post the two letters which we sent to Mr. J.C. Ransom, and we wished that you had returned them to, us so that we could have put the matter right, but we assume that they have been destroyed. We will arrange to draw a duplicate cheque in your favour for the amounts which those two letters contained of £3.18s.9d and 15/9d respectively, but before doing so we shall be glad to know if you have received and presented for payment the cheque made out to Messrs. Pinker value £1.10s.7d which was the amount due in royalties to Mr. J.C. Ransom and which we sent to Messrs. Pinker on July 27th of this year. We do not seem to have had any receipt.
