Dear Miss Mirrlees,

 

I am enclosing a copy of a letter which Mr. Woolf *2 wrote to you on 1st October and which, as it was sent to Guildford, I fear did not reach you. Meanwhile, we have written to Sheed & Ward asking them to let us have details of the alterations so that you can consider whether to give permission.

Also, the author explains they've been in contact with Sheed & Ward in regard to seeing the alterations of The Life of the Archpriest Avvakum.
