Dear Mr Knopf,

 

Many thanks for your letter. I hope that the Pharos and Pharillon negotiations may fructify, though I gather that from the Hogarth Press that there is a divergence over the question of an advance. Even if we do not come to terms over this particular little volume, it would will not I trust preclude friendly discussions in the future between us in the future.
